Planning a Funeral

Our Music Ministry office is here to serve you when planning a Mass of Christian Burial (Catholic Funeral). Please call the office to make an appointment. If you need this information after hours or during a holiday, we have listed it here for your convenience. Please know that if you do not have to make all of these decisions on your own. If you would like, we can choose the readings and music for you. You MAY also have family members serve as Lectors or to bring up the Gifts during the Preparation of the table. If you do not have family members for this, we can arrange for other people to take over that responsibility.

Readings:
Below is a link to the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) approved list of readings. These are the only readings that may be used for Funeral Masses.

Music:
As there are certain readings approved for use in a Catholic Funeral, music also must be USCCB approved. Below is a listing of music appropriate for use during a Catholic Funeral. If you would like a song that is not listed, please let us know. We will research it to see if it is approved.
