“For I was… ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me… Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:35-40
The church isn't just for those who attend Mass on Sunday. The church is there for peoples from all walks of life and during their many and varied journeys. The Body of Christ is also composed of the sick, the infirm, the suffering, and the marginalized.
As the whole body responding to all its parts, OLQH tries to be attentive to those who are in hospitals, nursing homes and home bound. Our hospital ministry is a joint ministry of lay parishioners and clergy who are sensitive to the special needs of those in these facilities. This ministry enables those in needs to receive the sacraments, healing prayer services, etc. most particularly at the critical moments.
Those who participate in this ministry report they see the face of God in those they visit. We trust the patients see God at work through these volunteers and clergy.
